Fighting Fantasy for Nintendo DS trailer hits the web and gets noticed!

Fighting Fantasy for Nintendo DS trailer hits the web and gets noticed!

With the upcoming release of Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, game industry insiders are already on the Fighting Fantasy bandwagon. Check out a couple of the things that they are saying:

“Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain might be the best looking game that we’ve ever seen on Nintendo DS”

Ted Staloch, Executive Vice President, Aspyr Media (Gamezone.com)

One of the highlights in Fighting Fantasy is its top-notch presentation. The game is gorgeous, with silky smooth scrolling and detailed texture work… If the game delivers a dozen hours that are as compelling as the demo, DS players are in for a real treat this October.”

Gameinformer.com

From what we've seen, Fighting Fantasy is shaping up to be a well-crafted action RPG that you would normally find on the PC or console but is scaled down to fit onto a handheld…it's quite impressive for the DS.

Gamespot.com

Not sure if it's the art style that gives colors and textures this really rich detail, or if somehow the developer has optimized the DS's rendering capabilities. But either way, visually, Fighting Fantasy is very entertaining.”
“My appetite for this game is now thoroughly whetted. The stuff they've added, the changes they've made and just how far the game seems to have come in the last couple of months speaks to the quality of the experience Fighting Fantasy will probably offer.

Kotaku.com

“Fighting Fantasy is a free roaming first-person perspective game with a visual engine that could put any DS first-person shooter to shame. It runs at a silky smooth 60 frames per second and allows for many high-resolution character sprites on-screen.”

IGN.com

“The graphics are astounding as they run at a fluid 60 frames per second, in full-3D environments. Players can run and look in any direction, high and low, and the level design certainly takes advantage of this as there are vertical elements to each environment. While this would normally seem standard, it's all quite impressive to witness running on the DS.”

Gamingunion.net

“What makes the game so amazing is how close it comes to replicating the experience of many great PC RPGs from years ago while feeling completely fresh thanks to the DS touch screen and a dedicated team of artists and programmers looking to bring the book to life and beyond in portable form. FF looks to be a classic, deep first-person role-playing experience set in an huge game world running at a blazing 60 frames per second with full, intuitive touch screen controls and the ability to map locations as you like in order to uncover every nook and cranny of the world you'll explore.”

“There was one thing that blew me away: the level graphics. These are some of the best looking real-time graphics I have seen on the DS. Libraries looks like libraries with books tossed on the floor and strewn about. Dwarven caves are dark and dank, and the dungeons are organic. Other than that grainy effect that impacts many games with high graphical aspirations on low-powered consoles, I was really impressed with what developer Big Blue Bubble has done with the visuals.”
